"James Bond" star Pierce Brosnan lists his sprawling beachfront mansion, The Orchid House, on the market for $100 million.
“James Bond" actor Pierce Brosnan and his wife, filmmaker Keely Brosnan, are selling their oceanfront Malibu estate at a price of $100 million.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the estate took almost 10 years to construct and the green, clay tiled roof was influenced by temples the couple saw while in Thailand, where Brosnan’s James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies took place.
The couple called the home "Orchid House" and introduced Southeast Asian elements such as the bamboo privacy wall and tropical plantings.
The Malibu getaway sits on 1.18 acres of land right on Broad Beach, 117 feet from the oceanfront.
The central living area opens onto the beachfront porch, which features multiple seating areas, two glass-enclosed dining areas and a fireplace.
The backyard features a saltwater pool with a waterfall, two glassed-in areas built to eat and hang out with a view of the water, a sandy spot for those who don't want to go down to the beach, and abundant gardens.
The home kitchen pictured above has two large islands, teak cabinets, two stoves, and crystal quartz countertops.
The estate highlights its wide water panoramas, with broad windows and glass doors facing the Pacific Ocean.
